The present club has been in existence for some fifty years, being a merger between Notts Unity and Casuals Cricket Clubs. Notts Unity were a founder member of the Nottinghamshire Cricket Association in 1898 and are one of the oldest cricket clubs in the county.
The 1st XI are currently members of the
Nottinghamshire Premier League,
which is at the top of the pyramid of the local league structure in
The County.
Whilst the 2nd XI are members of the
Gunn and Moore South Nottinghamshire Cricket
League Which is the feeder league to the premier
league for clubs in the South of the County.
Notts Unity Casuals
has a unique claim to fame in that over the last
twenty years no less than nine players produced from the clubs ranks
have gone on to become professional cricketers with Nottinghamshire
County Cricket Club.
Peter Such (Notts, Leics, Essex & England), Mick Newell (Notts),
Russell Evans (Notts), Kevin Evans (Notts), Andy Pick (Notts &
England A), Wayne Dessaur (Notts & Derbys),Paul Pollard (Notts),
Noel Gie (Notts) and, the most recent, Nadeem Malik (Notts, Worcs &
England U19). This is unique amongst clubs in the county and only
matched by one other club in England.
The Club currently runs junior teams for under 11's through to under
15's. The Club feel it is important to offer young people the
opportunity to play the game of cricket and is vitally important for
the future of the club.
The hope is that
these sides produce players to feed the clubs senior teams and maybe
more young professional to follow in the footsteps of those
professionals mentioned above.
We are well known for being a family club with wives, partners and
children all welcome at the Club as we believe that it is important
that those not playing cricket are made as welcome as the players.
If you want to be part of such a Club as a player or a non playing
member then please contact us via
